Mia
We're super excited to share this #LuluAndMe ritual series with you guys! We spent the morning with Mia from local home decor brand Mia Mélange, documenting her morning self-care routine.
Mia is a talented textile artist and total boss lady, helping to empower women crafters in her Stellenbosch community through training and job creation. Like Lulu & Marula, Mia Mélange is 100% handmade in South Africa.
Mia tells us about her rituals.
What does self-care mean to you?
It means to stop and take a little time in the day to think about and pamper myself, even if in the most minimal way.
What beauty ritual do you like to indulge in?
I love washing my face and moisturizing with different products in the morning.
What do you like to do to unwind?
I love taking a bath when possible (and when there’s no drought!).
What does your beauty routine usually consist of?
I usually wash my face, alternating between the Lulu & Marula Balancing Cleansing Balm and a soap cleanser, and then I use the Lulu & Marula Refreshing Tonic Mist. Next I use an eye cream, which I’m very serious about, after which I use the Lulu & Marula Purifying Treatment Oil.
Are you mindful of using natural products, and why (or why not)?
I definitely am. Even when I buy a product that isn't 100% natural, I always make sure that it doesn’t contain any harmful ingredients.
How has your attitude towards beauty changed over the years?
Over the years I started to see the effects that non self care has on ones skin, so taking care of my skin became more important to me, as well as what I put on it.
Do you have a favorite Lulu & Marula product, and why?
Its hard to say because they are all so wonderful! I really love the Balancing Cleansing Balm.
