Holiday skincare rituals.

Holiday skincare rituals.

It’s that time of the year where we indulge in late nights and long days in the sun. And while we rather focus on the finer things in life (which are super important), we tend to forget about taking care of our skin.

Have no fear! We’ve put together a few tips on how to keep your skin happy during the festive season so that you can hit the New Year glowing and radiant. Of course, there are the basics that we should remember throughout the year, like drinking plenty of water and always applying sunscreen. But we’ve thought of a few extras to help a gal out.

Stick to your routine.
The best thing you can do for your face is to stick to your skincare routine. It’s easy to forget to remove your makeup and SPF before bed after the many pool parties and Christmas dinners. Just take 5 minutes to cleanse, tone and moisturize day and night to prevent pores from getting clogged and keep breakouts away.

If you do breakout, don’t touch.
It’s hard not to be tempted to scratch or squeeze the odd pimple. Doing so will expose your skin to infection, which can make it look worse, and take longer to heal. If you absolutely have to do something about it, take a warm shower or place a warm, damp cotton pad over the area to soften skin. Gently prick the pimple with a needle, and very carefully apply some pressure around the pimple using your index fingers wrapped in tissue paper. Do not use your nails, and don’t squeeze too hard! Once everything is out, apply some Refreshing Tonic Mist spritzed onto a cotton pad over the area.

Soothe sunned skin.
After spending the day poolside, skin can feel a little sensitive whether you’ve kept your face out of the sun or not. Replenish and hydrate with a spritz of our Refreshing Tonic Mist on clean skin, followed by a thin layer of our Balancing Cleansing Balm. Leave for 10 minutes while you quickly tidy up from last night’s shenanigans before jumping in the shower and washing off. This will give your skin an instant pick-me-up and leave you glowing and radiant for the festivities that await.

These are just some nifty tips to keep your skin healthy and happy, helping you ease into the New Year like a breeze.
